Frequently Asked Questions
Where is your office?
My office is located in the 4th and 5th Grade hallway. Look for my door that says "Miss Mason" and a black banner.
How can I come see you?
Talk to your teacher first. Let them know if you need to speak with me and whether or not it's an emergency. Your teacher will then contact me and we will set up a time for you to visit me.
Will you keep my secrets or how am I feeling between us?
Yes! Most of the time at least. What you say to me in my office stays between us and is confidential. So you don't have to worry about me telling others how you are feeling. However, there are some cases where I can't keep your secret if there is a safety concern if I think someone is at risk of being harmed.
If I am feeling upset, mad, frustrated, or stressed outside of school, what can I do?
Use some coping strategies I can teach you! For example, always make sure you are eating a healthy diet, drink water, and get enough sleep. When you need to calm yourself down, count backwards from 10 to 1, take deep breaths, blow bubbles, or make your own stress ball out of play dough. You can also speak with an adult, exercise, draw, color, write, listen to music, read, or sing!
